National Seminar 2026 with Gunadarma University

National Seminar 2026 with Gunadarma University

Hello, Petra friends! On Monday, June 29, 2026, the Campus D Auditorium welcomed hundreds of enthusiastic students, practitioners, and academics. The event, held under the theme “GEOSYNTHETICS AND THEIR INFRASTRUCTURE APPLICATION”, was a collaboration between PT. Petra Nusa Elshada and the Civil Engineering Student Association (HMTS) of Gunadarma University.

Why Use Geosynthetics?

In this era of fast-paced development, conventional methods are sometimes not enough to meet the challenges posed by nature. As you probably know, Indonesia has many areas with soft soil, landslide-prone terrain, or unstable soil structures. This is where geosynthetic applications step in as the real heroes of modern infrastructure.

Broadly speaking, geosynthetics are man-made polymer materials designed specifically to solve a range of geotechnical problems in construction projects. Their functions are very diverse, from reinforcement (reinforcement) and stabilization to filtration, drainage, and soil protection.

In modern civil engineering, these materials have become a basic necessity. Geosynthetics have been proven to extend the service life of highway structures and distribute loads better. The technology also helps reduce the thickness of the aggregate layer required and cuts long-term maintenance costs. Beyond being more economical, they are also considered more environmentally friendly, as they minimize excessive extraction of natural rock and control the movement of water and material on site. Pretty impressive, right?

From the very start, the enthusiasm in the Gunadarma University Campus D Auditorium was palpable. Gunadarma civil engineering students flocked in and filled the seats. This collaboration between PT. Petra Nusa Elshada and HMTS Gunadarma University was a real success.

From the opening to the close of the event, the interaction between the speakers and the audience was truly two-way. Students asked plenty of critical questions that made the discussion lively and substantive. This proves that our young civil engineers care deeply about the innovations in sustainable construction technology that are widely used in international building standards.

Petra and the Future of Infrastructure

This seminar is real proof of PT. Petra Nusa Elshada’s commitment to supporting infrastructure progress in Indonesia through continuous education. We believe that the future of safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly construction lies in the hands of you, the future engineers and young practitioners who keep embracing innovation.

By making use of modern geosynthetic technology, we are not just building highways or bridges; we are also building a more resilient, efficient, and lasting future for the next generation.

Think Geosynthetics, Think Petra!
