Sedimentation is a common problem in liquid and industrial waste ponds. Accumulating sludge reduces the pond’s storage capacity and hinders its operation. Left untreated, the pond fills with sludge and can no longer be used. An effective, efficient dewatering system is needed to solve this.
C-Tube is a geosynthetic technology developed as a low-cost dewatering system. Made from geotextile, C-Tube has high tensile strength and permeability. It works simply: the C-Tube is laid out and filled with pond wastewater using a high-pressure pump. During filling, water seeps out through the geotextile pores while the solid particles stay inside the C-Tube. The result is a dry sludge cake that is easy to dispose of or move. The good material properties of C-Tube, together with flocculants, make dewatering faster than conventional methods.
