Infrastructure projects often encounter steep slopes with a high landslide risk. Landslides happen because of low soil stability caused by poor soil properties, steep slopes, and loads from water infiltration or structures above. Left untreated, slope failure can occur at any time and be fatal for people and nearby buildings.

To reduce landslide risk and increase the safety factor, the right slope reinforcement is needed. One method is to build a Mechanically Stabilized Earth Wall, or MSE Wall.

An MSE wall is a modern, more natural solution that improves soil stability from within. It uses geosynthetics such as geogrid, geotextile or geocomposite as internal soil reinforcement. The material is installed layer by layer to take the tensile stresses the soil cannot carry. By combining geosynthetics with facing panels such as concrete blocks, galvanized frames, geocell or geobags, slopes can be built much steeper, even up to 90 degrees, safely and stably.
