Woven Geotextile: Uses and Advantages

Woven Geotextile: Uses and Advantages

First, let’s look at the word Geosynthetics, which combines two words: Geo (earth) and Synthetic (man-made). Geosynthetics are man-made materials widely used in construction, and woven polypropylene geotextile is one of the most common.

Geosynthetics come in several forms, one of which is geotextile. A geotextile is a thin, flexible, porous sheet. Geotextiles are divided into two types, Woven Geotextile & Non-Woven Geotextile, and in this article we will discuss woven geotextile.

Woven geotextile is a sheet, usually black, woven like sack fabric from polypropylene (PP) or polyester. It is used in construction for separation, filtration, reinforcement and protection.
