Difference Between Woven and Non-Woven Geotextile
Both woven geotextile and non-woven geotextile are widely used in many projects, but what is the difference between woven and non-woven? Woven and non-woven geotextiles are both made from polyester fibres, yet each has different characteristics and functions.

What is the difference between woven and non-woven?
The two types of geotextile clearly look different. Woven geotextile has woven polyester fibres and at first glance resembles a plastic rice sack; it is usually black. Non-woven geotextile, by contrast, has polyester fibres that are not woven. At first glance it looks very much like a fabric carpet and is usually white.

What is the difference between woven and non-woven?
The functions of woven and non-woven geotextile differ for each material. Woven geotextile is usually used in civil engineering for soil stabilisation, especially on soft soil. Woven geotextile can also be used as a separator to prevent embankment fill from mixing with the subgrade in road projects.

What is the difference between woven and non-woven?
Woven geotextile is used more often for stabilisation than non-woven geotextile because woven geotextile has better tensile strength than non-woven geotextile.
