Geopipe Installation: Step-by-Step Guide

Geopipe Installation: Step-by-Step Guide

Subgrade Preparation for Geopipe Installation

For geopipe installation, the geopipe is placed on prepared ground or in a trench dug specifically for it, at the design depth. If the material beneath the geopipe is subgrade soil, it must be compacted to 95% of Standard Proctor compaction to minimise pipe deformation during its service life.

Backfilling Process

The geopipe is laid on the prepared ground or trench and backfilled with aggregate. Before that, the first layer (beneath the geopipe) is usually bedded with about 5-10 cm of aggregate, or granular soil with enough fine grains to provide stable placement.

After this, the trench is backfilled with soil.
