Tarpaulin Price List: Types, Grades and Sizes
Most people are familiar with tarpaulin. Tarpaulin is a plastic-like sheet that is impermeable to water. Today it is widely used as a base material for ponds or as a roof covering against heat and rain. Tarpaulin is usually sold per square meter and per roll, and this tarpaulin price list shows how prices differ by type, size and region.
What Is Tarpaulin?
In general, tarpaulin is described as a heavy canvas fabric used for camping, car covers and so on. Others describe tarpaulin as a plastic material made and modified so that it can be used as a temporary waterproof layer.

Today, plastic tarpaulin is widely used for protection from hot weather or rain to keep things safe and comfortable. Because it is waterproof, it is also often used to make fish ponds, tents and anything else that needs to be watertight.
Types of Tarpaulin
- HDPE tarpaulin, usually called HDPE geomembrane, is very suitable for shrimp ponds, fish ponds and salt ponds. Its advantage is a higher shrimp survival rate in pond systems. Yields increase because HDPE tarpaulin is designed to keep harmful substances in the ground from contaminating the pond.
- Type A2 plastic tarpaulin is fairly thin, arguably the thinnest of all. It is usually used to cover food stalls, concrete pouring areas, trucks and so on. A2 plastic tarpaulin is available as both local and imported products.
- Type A3 plastic tarpaulin is thicker than type A2. In terms of function, however, it has the same uses as A2, such as covering food stalls, truck beds and concrete pouring areas. A3 tarpaulin is also available in local and imported versions.
- Type A5 plastic tarpaulin is mid-range in thickness, thicker than the previous two. Like the other types it is available as local and imported products, and it is used to cover stalls, concrete pours, projects, trucks and so on.
- Type A12 plastic tarpaulin is the thickest of the types above. It is usually used for large projects, for example as a pond base, ground cover, truck cover, ship or boat cover, on farms and so on.
- Besides the coded types above, Orchid tarpaulin is another type with good strength and flexibility, and it is of course waterproof. It has many uses, such as fish ponds, waste containment, car bed covers, canopy tents and even body bags.
- Canvas tarpaulin has a texture of thick fibers and is water resistant, spark resistant and very sturdy. Canvas tarpaulin is commonly used in heavy industry, welding and similar work.
