What Is Bronjong (Gabion)? Uses and Benefits
What is gabion? Bronjong (gabion) is a structure used to prevent erosion on slopes, generally used along riverbanks. However, quite a few people also use gabions to add beauty to an architectural design.

A gabion is woven steel wire mesh in the shape of a cube or block, filled with rocks. It is usually used as a retaining wall in cliff, slope and riverbank areas. The steel wire mesh is hexagonal and very strongly bound because it is made by machine. In addition, the steel wire used is galvanized, making it resistant to corrosion.

What Is Geogrid?
Bronjong, also called gabion, is a basket, cage or cylinder filled with rock, concrete, or soil and sand, used as a foundation for structures such as houses, buildings, parks and even highways. Because it is flexible yet hard and porous, a gabion can absorb wind, waves and water passing through its pores. Its hardness makes the gabion a strong foundation for buildings.
